An informal petition, or statement of position, can be used to express a public opinion to Council. 

They cannot oblige Council to take action, but they can be a useful tool to indicate a public concern. 
There are no legislative requirements regarding statements of position, but the guidelines provided in the FAQ below will help ensure that your concern is easily understood by Council and Administration.
